The start of the second trimester was a lot better than the first. My morning sickness has subsided and my nausea is not all day long. Hallelujah! I do not miss the morning sickness at all. I do get headaches off and on. I dealt with them for about one week and decided that I should not be taking Tylenol on the daily, but if I didn’t take anything the headaches were knocking me out for the entire day. So I contacted a great chiropractor that got me in right away. He did some adjusting, cracking and poof…my headaches were gone. I believe the headaches could have been from a stiff neck or an uncomfortable nights sleep sleeping on my side. I am not a side sleeper. I prefer sleeping on my stomach or my back which I can no longer do now that I am in my second trimester. I went in a few more times for adjustments and now I rarely get headaches. I feel so much better about this treatment over taking Tylenol.
I have also had more energy to do house chores, work, minimal exercise and cook real meals. Poor hubby survived the last three months off of going out, take out or frozen meals. AND I am feeling better to actually eat full meals. Breakfasts have finally made a transition from only oatmeal and a smoothie to eggs, bagels, acai bowls…woohoo! I think hubby is also excited for eating a variety of breakfast foods. I love feeling human again.
My hips and my sciatic nerve are in pain, especially at night. I fall asleep for a few hours and then I am awakened by pain in my hips (specifically my left one) and down through my legs. Once I am awake, I am awake and it usually takes me about one to two hours to fall back asleep. I am using a pregnancy pillow but that has not helped with the pain. If anyone has any experience with this kind of pain during pregnancy, please help a preggo lady out!
Feeling baby move has been truly my favorite. I have felt flutters and movement from this baby since 16 weeks. I have noticed he likes to move around when I exercise or while sitting on the sofa at the end of the day. I cannot wait for hubby to feel him move. Doctor said that can happen anytime now.
Last week we had our anatomy scan where we got to see every part of our baby. It is amazing what a doppler can do. Seeing the heart pump blood, the kidneys, the facial features and finding out that Moore babe is a boy was absolutely amazing. Doctor said baby is healthy and at that time was 11oz. We are thrilled to be having a boy! Hubby is already planning adventures with him. This boy is so loved and we cant wait to meet him in 20 short weeks!
